America was born in a revival of religion and our political institutions were constructed entirely upon religious principles.  Our forefathers had in mind a government that would be hospitable toward religion that would actively encourage and promote religion and the reverence for God.  This is the religious heritage that gave us the civil liberties and freedoms Americans now enjoy.

The intention of our forefathers was to establish a nation that would be based upon a moral code which was God’s code and not man’s code.  It was the understanding of our founding fathers that the republican form of government they established could not endure, unless the people were moral and virtuous.
